Jason Nious
With a surreal 360 degree life spin, Jason returns to his gymnastics roots at the iconic Radio City Music Hall with one of Cirque du Soleil’s newest creations, Zarkana. He feels honored to be included in yet another highly visceral show that is both a performer’s dream and a nightly playground. Other career highlights include performing on the Las Vegas strip in Stomp Out Loud @ Planet Hollywood and in Cirque du Soleil’s KA @ MGM Grand. Prior to that he toured for 5 years as both performer and artistic director with Step Afrika, the first professional dance company dedicated to preserving the art form of collegiate stepping. Jason is founder and director of Molodi LLC, a live arts collective who perform and teach worldwide through their body percussion band, Molodi LIVE and their full length theatrical show, Raw Footage. A passionate writer, he is also the creator of Stono, The Resurrection of Jazzman Brown, and Son Shine. Along with writing and directing, as an actor he has successfully made the crossover from theater to feature film work starring in a handful of indie films including “Bubblegum & Broken Fingers,” “Finding My Precious Basquiat,” “Dying To Tell You” and was a stepper, assistant choreographer and stunt double for the DVD favorite “Stomp The Yard 2: Homecoming.” He has his B.A. in Theatre from the University of New Mexico.
